SpeechBees

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of speechbees.com and to requests you make through it. Speech Bees connects families with licensed pediatric speech-language pathologists ("SLPs"). By using the site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What we do

Speech Bees helps families find licensed SLPs for in-home speech therapy for children ages 2–12. Stuttering therapy is the only service also offered online. Articulation, language, and apraxia therapy happen in the home only.

The articles and tools on this site are general education. They are not an evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment, and reading them does not make anyone your child's therapist. Therapy begins only after a consultation and a written agreement for services.

2. Not for emergencies

Our website, contact form, and inbox are not watched around the clock and must never be used for emergencies. If your child is in danger or needs urgent medical care, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

3. Where services are available

We are growing, and we do not yet have a Speech Bee in every area. A city or state page on this site describes the area we plan to serve; it is not a promise that a Speech Bee is available there today. We will tell you whether we can serve your family before any services are arranged.

Online therapy and licensing. An SLP may only provide online therapy to a child who is in a state where that SLP holds a current license (or is otherwise legally allowed to practice). We will only arrange online stuttering therapy when that is true for your child's location, and your child must be in that state during each online session.

4. Who can use the site

You must be at least 18 to request services. By sending a request, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise legally allowed to arrange care for them, and that the information you give is accurate.

SLPs who apply must hold a current license in each state where they will provide services, must keep it in good standing, and must tell us right away if it lapses or is restricted. We verify licenses before an SLP's profile is published.

5. SLP accounts

If you have an SLP account, keep your password private, and you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it. Information in your public profile must be true and current. We may decline an application, or suspend or close an account, if it breaks these Terms or creates a safety or legal risk.

6. Acceptable use

When using the site, please don't:

  • Break the law, or harass, threaten, or endanger anyone, especially children.
  • Give false information or pretend to be someone else.
  • Copy or scrape the site or its content for commercial use without our written permission.
  • Try to break into, overload, or interfere with the site or its security.
  • Send other people's private or health information without their permission.

7. Consultations, fees, and cancellations

Your first 15-minute consultation is free and does not commit you to anything. Before therapy starts, you will receive a written agreement that sets out session fees, billing, insurance, and the cancellation policy. Nothing is charged unless you sign that agreement, and if it differs from these Terms, the agreement controls for therapy services.

8. Our content and brand

The Speech Bees name, logo, bee character, honeycomb design, and the site's text and images belong to Speech Bees or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You are welcome to link to our pages and quote short passages with credit. Please ask before reusing anything more.

9. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep the site accurate and running, but it is provided "as is" and "as available," and we can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

Every child is different. We can't promise a particular result from therapy, and milestone and age information on the site is a general guide, not a diagnosis.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under laws that can't be waived, including consumer protection laws.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Speech Bees is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses that come from using the website, and our total responsibility for any claim about the website is limited to $100. This section is about the website only. It does not limit responsibility for the professional care your child receives, or for anything the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Speech Bees grows. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply from that date forward and never to a dispute that started earlier. We will email SLPs with active accounts about important changes.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If we can't, either of us may bring the dispute in the state or federal courts in Texas, or in small claims court where you live if it qualifies. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
